The Kôré Company was created in 2011 by two dancers: Nicole Häring and Laura Garby. They put on and interpret choreographies taken from François Malkovsky’s repertory, himself inspired by the dancer Isadora Duncan. Their pieces have marked the modernity in dance with the movement “free dance”. How to dance those pieces nowadays, what echo with our spontaneity? The repertory has directly been passed along by the dancer’s students : Christiane Muhlebach, Annie Garby, Chantal Gache, Vannina Guibert.

Alexandre Bodak, Malkovsky’s piasnist from 1957 to 1982 on many shows, accompanies them since 2015. The dancer Johana Giot joined the company in 2017 to create “Le Souffle d’Eole“.

Laura Garby

Laura Garby joined the Kôré Company in 2011. She teaches dance (Malkovsky’s techinque) since 2002 in France, Spain and Belgium. She has been keenly training to this technique ever since she was a child, and worked with Christine Renem, Christiane Muhlebach and Annie Garby in Dijon (France). Then, she met Vannina Guibert and Chantal Gache and discovered Isadora Duncan’s dancing with Amy Swanson in Paris. She pursued studies in human sciences (anthropology and sociology) before she entirely devoted herself to dancing and teaching. She graduated in 2017 from the DESU in dance and somatic education to fragile publics at the University of Paris VIII.

Like Laura Garby, Nicole Häring joined the Kôré Company in 2011. She teaches “free dance” technique to adults and children in France and Switzerland. After she went to the Danse Libre in Dijon, with Annie Garby and Chris Muhlebach, she met Chantal Gache in 2009. Curious about metting new students of Malkowsky, she pursued with Vannina Guibert’s teaching,  Françoise Carlier and Francine Bouzguenda. It’s during an internship at the Regard du Cygne (Paris) that she met Amy Swanson, an isadorian dancer. Passioned about the human movements, she educates herself to the Feldenkrais’ method. She currently teaches this method to a diverse public of adults.
